The Life of Our Fathers: An Introduction to the Bible in the Orthodox Church

Scripture is not just text in the Orthodox Church; it's a way of life. Fr. Silviu Bunta explores how Scripture functions in the Orthodox tradition. He doesn't focus on interpretation methods but on living the ascetical and liturgical life of the Church. This book challenges common assumptions about approaching Scripture, offering a deeper path of participation.

Transformative Reading Experience

There's no distance between the reader and the text. The Bible is a reality we participate in through Church services and ascetical practices. As we put off the old man, the words of Scripture become our own speech, transforming us. This book is deeply accessible, born from talks given to lay audiences.
